Free pregnancy testing is available at the Public Health Office. Women testing positive will be urged to seek prenatal care. If the test result is negative, information on fertility and / or contraception is available.

Childbirth Classes

Childbirth classes are offered in the Fall, Winter and Spring. These are a series of four classes, presenting information on:

	Birthing anatomy
	Signs of labor
	What to expect in labor and delivery
	Relaxation and breathing
	Pain reduction through touch
	Medical interventions, including Caesarean section
	Local hospital tour
	Breastfeeding
	Daily care of your newborn

The classes are taught by a Public Health nurse, who is also a mother.
